DR. anna Bistline BERNING
Dr. Anna Berning, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist who graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, and received her Doctorate of Medicine from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She completed her intern year at UPMC Altoona, and went on to complete residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Anna is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr Berning sees patients of all ages, and specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
As a native of Altoona, Dr. Berning and is excited to return home to provide dermatologic care to Blair County and surrounding communities.
Dr. Alice Plummer Joyce
***ANNOUNCEMENT*** Effective March 01, 2025, Altoona Dermatology announces the retirement of Dr. Alice Plummer Joyce. Dr. Joyce has touched countless lives with the compassionate and dedicated care she has provided to her patients and their families throughout the years. She will be truly missed and we wish her the very best!!!
Dr. Alice Plummer Joyce, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist who trained at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Upon finishing her chief resident position at Bethesda Naval Hospital, she worked as a Navy Dermatologist at Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia. A native of Altoona, Dr. Joyce returned home to practice Dermatology in 1991.
Dr. Plummer Joyce is published in dermatology literature and has received awards from the Association of Military Dermatologists. Her professional memberships include a Fellow in The American Academy of Dermatology, as well as a member in The Association of Military Dermatologists and The Women's Dermatological Society.
Dr. Patrick McLucas
Dr. Patrick McLucas, DO is a general practice licensed physician with a special interest in Dermatology. He joined our practice in 2018. A native of Altoona, he is a graduate of Penn State University and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. McLucas is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. He attends the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting for continuing education and cares for both adult and pediatric patients with skin problems.
Dr. McLucas is very active in community activities and enjoys coaching softball and basketball. He resides in Duncansville with his wife and three children.
Danielle L. beckeR, PA-C
Danielle L. Becker, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant. She is a 2011 graduate of Arcadia University. Danielle is from Hollidaysburg and returned to central Pennsylvania in 2017 after practicing in Pittsburgh for 6 years.
Danielle is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Danielle attends the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting for continuing education and cares for both adult and pediatric dermatology patients.
Danielle resides in Hollidaysburg with her husband and daughter.
